    Title:
How do I clear the buffer?
    Content:

Dragon 13 Premium crashes almost every time I wakeup my Windows 8.1 PC. I read it's because the buffer is full. Does anyone know how to clear it?

    Thanks!

Never put your PC to sleep with Dragon still running.  This can cause profile damage.

Please, always close Dragon when not in use, this lets you save your profile which in turn learns better due to the changes saved.

Alexander’s answer is correct but it’s an overkill approach. It isn’t necessary to exit Dragon before hibernating or placing Windows in the Asleep state. Simply switching Dragon’s microphone completely off (red icon) should be enough. I have placed Windows in hibernation or the Asleep state every day and can’t recall Dragon ever crashing or damaging my user profile. The only possible way you can damage your user profile is in the event that you are Roaming it over a network or leaving the Dragon microphone in the Asleep state or turned on.

Trust me, the profile can be damaged by letting the PC go into hibernation with Dragon running and profile loaded. It's not guaranteed to happen, and with Dragon 13 it's gotten a lot better at preventing such issues, but it can still happen. Best practice is to avoid the possibility. It's so easily prevented.

But hey, I've only worked with the software for nigh on 10 years and helped countless thousands repair their profiles after damaging them in this way, so what do I know?!

after approximately 1 1/2 hour to 2 hour use my nuance freezes up and says voice error occurred. then I cannot close device or type in word. It sometimes take the computer over a half hour to 45 min. to close product. Help. How do I stop this from happening.

      Thanks,

      Gary
